This position serves as an integral member of the nursing programs to assess, plan, implement and evaluate strategies for student success and retention in the nursing programs.  Provides support for students by identifying barriers to success, i.e., time management, priority setting, study skills, test taking strategies, etc.  Provides individualized student outreach to at risk students; connects students to relevant campus resources; provides academic coaching and support to students on an ongoing basis; monitors and tracks progress of students through graduation and the NCLEX exam.  Maintains communication with Nursing Program faculty, administrators and staff in support of students.  Support and contribute to diversity and student success initiatives.  Meet scheduled office hours, and participate in program and divisional teams, and in college-wide committees as requested. Work effectively with other faculty, administrators, and staff in a rapidly changing team environment.  Remain current in subject area and teaching methodologies by incorporating relevant safety, quality, and evidenced-based practice recommendations. Some nights and weekends may be required.  As needed may be responsible for teaching students in a small group instructional setting utilizing clinical application of knowledge, techniques, and skills.  This is a full-time teaching clinician position working 215 days/year.

Master's of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN) from a regionally accredited college or university.
Minimum two years of experience working in the field of Nursing.
Teaching experience in nursing or health related field.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse License or in process within 60 days of hire. 
Current BLS Certification or within 30 days of hire.

Two years of teaching experience at the college level in Nursing theory, lab, or clinical.
Student support experience, such as, one-on-one or small group tutoring experience.
Course management system (D2L) experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including email and electronic calendars.
