Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

  • Standards of Practice: all of the following are essential functions.
  • Standard 1: Assessment The registered nurse collects comprehensive data pertinent to the healthcare consumers health and/or the situation.
  • Standard 2: Diagnosis The registered nurse analyzes the assessment data to determine the diagnoses or the issues.
  • Standard 3: Outcomes Identification The registered nurse identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or the situation.
  • Standard 4: Planning The registered nurse develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
  • Standard 5: Implementation The registered nurse implements the identified plan.
  • Standard 6: Evaluation The registered nurse evaluated progress towards attainment of outcomes.

  • The registered nurse must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to all ages of patients serviced on his or her unit.
  • This position involves direct patient care and supervision of other health care providers. Use and disclosure of personal health information on a need to know basis may be necessary for purposes of treatment and hospital operations.
  • Performs all other duties and assignments as requested, i.e., special projects and committees.

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

    • Obtain and maintain BLS certification on completion of hospital orientation required.
    • Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license at time of hire/transfer date required.
  • Preferred Credential(s):
    • Current CNOR certification desired.

Education:

  • Diploma 
    • Graduate from an accredit School of Nursing at time of hire/transfer date BSN preferred

Work Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years OR experience required. Demonstrate knowledge of Growth and Development over life span for all ages required. Ability to manage multiple high tech equipment /information devices simultaneously required. Must be able to take on-call shift. Must be able to flex.
